July 13
Lazy start to the day. Had our coffee/tea, then headed into Graham’s for showers. Had breakfast at a neat little café, Organic Market. Good, fresh food and decent prices, even though it was “organic”. By now it’s past noon. Graham said his back was feeling good (hadn’t been so good yesterday), and suggested we should go golfing. So off to the course, in the blazing afternoon sun. Good thing we only played 9 holes. What Robin and I did I’m not sure I would classify as golf, but Graham – wow!! HE’S GOOD!! We really slowed him down. Plenty hot, and every time we found a shady spot it was usually thick with mosquitoes. But still enjoyed ourselves.
Once we finished golf, it was approaching dinner time, so Graham headed home to shower and change and meet up with Janice, and we headed to the trailer to freshen up. As we were about to leave, a good size branch fell out of the trees above the trailer and landed on the roof. Fortunately, it missed the solar panels, and didn’t seem to do any damage anywhere.
Met the kids at the ski hill, which is not on Fernie Mountain but on peaks in the Lizard Range just a bit southwest of town. We had a lovely meal at the Lizard Creek Lodge. And, most importantly, we got to meet Janice. Very nice young woman, and hope to get a chance to spend more time with her before we leave, and get to know her better. Graham is happy, and that’s what matters. Back to the trailer for a bit of reading before bed. No camera action today.
