Sept 22/12
Today dawned with sunshine again. We were waiting on some decent weather to head further west and check out Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. Checked in at the park headquarters to make sure the mountain tops weren't thick in fog or clouds - clear up top, although we would pass through some fog banks on the way. It's a 5,000+ foot climb, so no point in driving all the way up if you can't see anything. It was an amazing view. We could see Victoria and Mount Douglas across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north, and seemingly unending mountain tops in the Olympic Range to the south and west. So glad we went.

After our tour of the Ridge, we headed back down to Port Angeles and puttered around there for a while. I have been on the hunt for some specific fabric, so stopped at a couple of shops there - no luck. We had seen signs along the highway - Swain's General Store. We have everything. So we checked them out, and they did. I even found a specific cheese slicer that I had been looking for in every store we went by that might conceivably carry something like that.
Return to base camp for a relaxing evening around the fire again.
