Sept 16/12
Today we decided to drive into Oak Harbour, on Whidby Island, to do a bit of shopping at Walmart, and try and find some quilting shops. Being Sunday, of course, the one shop we did find was closed (although someone forgot to turn off the "Open" sign). Hit Walmart and picked up a couple of things, then had lunch at Seabolt's (very good fish/seafood and chips). Stopped at the bridge over Deception Pass and took in the beautiful scenery. Smitty and I both had a problem with the bridge (Smitty doesn't like being over water, and I don't like heights). He didn't even try, but I had planned to go out partway and catch up with Robin and Pat. However, one step past the end of the railing, and I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around. Pat says she got quite a laugh out of the look on my face. Oh well, I tried! Another leisurely afternoon in the campground, light supper and spent the evening around the fire (our little portable propane fire). Tomorrow we'll hit the road again. Probably staying in a State park for the next couple of nights, so most likely won't have any internet connection. Will have to update these pages when we get back to "civilization".
