Sept 23/12
Another clear day. The weather gods have smiled on us during this trip. One day of overcast, and no rain. Today we decided to head to the Olympic Game Farm. Click here for an interesting read about the Game Farm and it's early days as a filming site for Walt Disney Studios. It's a drive-through tour and we thoroughly enjoyed it. They also have a walking tour through a petting area and a bit of an aquarium, but we opted out of that. On the driving tour, they allow you to feed some of the animals, but only with wheat bread. They sell you a large loaf at the gate for $2, which we thought was very reasonable. Well, you can bet those animals have gotten quite used to this and come running when they see a vehicle - either up to the fence around their enclosure, or right up to your vehicle if you drive through their roaming area. Would love to bring the grandkids here some day. Took lots of pictures, and some videos.
One thing we found quite interesting was that, naturally, there were lots and lots of seagulls inside the compound vying for the bread that was thrown out. When we went outside the driving compound, where there was a gift shop and deli, with people eating, not one single seagull was trolling around the tables. They were all just sitting in a nearby field.
Stopped for a late picnic lunch on the Dungeness Spit, on a bluff overlooking the Strait. The view was lovely, if you were standing on your tip toes looking over a row of bushes on the other side of the guard rail. But we could hear the waves splashing on the shore. Back to the RV park for a leisurely rest-of-the-day. Heading home tomorrow.
Oh, and happy birthday to my wonderful son.

I apologize in advance for the shaky videos. Trying to catch the shot, with a small pocket camera in a moving vehicle driving over gravel roads, just doesn't always work so well. 1 - A couple of the bears will (sort of) wave to you if you wave to them. 2 - Was getting a kick out of the bear scratching himself, when the others spotted another rolling around like a dog. My panning skills aren't so great. 3 - When we drove through the bison herd, this little fellow kept chasing after us, long past where the rest of the herd was.
