Where we're laying our heads tonight.
Well, we didn't escape yesterday without a new problem. As the rain continued, we discovered two leaks near the driver's side window. One turned out to be an actual leak where the CB radio antenna goes out. The other turned out to be a blockage at the end of the "eaves" on the roofline, that caused an overflow down the window and built up in the bottom of the window frame and then into the cab. The antenna leak soaked two bath towels throughout the night and the other soaked two bath sheets. I was up at 3:30 and checked and changed the towels. Hopefully they are both now resolved.
Finally stopped raining this morning just around the time Robin finished all the outside prep for us to hit the road. On our way by 10, and other than a stretch of the I-5 through Portland (minor fender bender slowed traffic, took us about 15 minutes to go a couple of miles), the drive was good.
Interesting sites along Highway 18. First we noticed a full size passenger jet atop a building, then another matching jet on the ground, along with other aircraft. Turns out it was the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum, just outside of McMinville. The jet is actually sitting on the indoor waterpark bulding.

A little farther down the road I spotted a truck in a tree. I didn't take this picture. By the time I grabbed the camera and uncapped the lens, it was too late, so borrowed this from another web site, but this is the truck we saw. Further on, there was a volkswagen that had been turned into a giant planter - flowers and foliage in the trunk and engine compartment, and coming out the windows. Really kind of cool - at least in a country setting. Somehow I don't think it would look so cute in the middle of a city lot. Again, too slow with the camera to capture the image.
Arrived in Lincoln City about 2pm and finally some glimpses of the ocean.

Checked in at the Premier RV Park, and by the time we got set up and Robin had checked out and repaired the leaking areas, it had started to rain again. Repairs/cleaning seem to have done the trick.
The campground seems very nice, and the ocean is just across the highway. On Fridays they have Happy Camper Hour, which normally is at the fire pit at the end of our row, but because it was raining, it was moved to the clubhouse. Bring your own beverage (and chair, if it had been outside) and they provide a lovely array of appetizers, and a couple of door prizes. We wandered down and shared a table with two other couples. Got lots of tips on places to go and to camp (particularly California, Washington and other parts of Oregon). And when they drew for three prizes, Robin and I each won (a coffee mug for Robin and a shooter glass for me). Guess Karma's trying to make up for the past three days.
We popped out for fish & chips for dinner, and brought them back to the MH for a relaxing evening. So the rain seems to have finally stopped, and the forecast is for sunny weather for several days to come. Fingers crossed.
Until tomorrow, dear followers.
