Tuesday, Sept 17 – Another weather shift overnight. Started blowing and raining in the early morning hours and did not want to seem to let up. The weather app kept saying it would end in 15 minutes – well that's the longest 15 minutes I've ever encountered. Eventually the clouds started to lift a bit and the rain let up. We grabbed our jackets and headed down to a beach area to watch the ocean for a while. The wind was still pretty brisk out of the south, and the seagulls were having quite a challenge trying to make any headway.
I wanted to visit a store at the outlet mall so we headed down there. Robin waited in the car while I did my shopping. Made a stop at the Goodwill, just to have a bit of a poke around, but Robin's sciatic is really giving him problems, so we didn't stay long. Then we ventured to the Chinook Winds casino to register with their membership club, with plans to return in the evening for their Tuesday Boomers' Buffet. After a rest up at the rig we called for the shuttle and headed back to the casino for dinner (OK food but selection certainly wasn't worth their regular price of $18 – we paid $12). Headed for the slots to try our luck with our promo dollars. We had the best results I think we've ever had (with one exception for myself a few years back in Kelowna). Robin came out $20 ahead and I ended up $58 to the good. We both got on to machines that ended up giving us a bunch of free games and we just sat back and let the money roll in. Cashed out and hollered "start the car" – actually I guess "page the shuttle" – and headed back to the rig for the rest of the evening.
