Another late-ish start. We've been burning through the propane like crazy, trying to keep the MH warm at night. So waited for the office at the RV park to open at 10 and topped up the tank. Then a stop to top up the gas tanks while fuel prices were still good ($2.16/gallon) and we were on our way shortly after 10:30. Day started off with low, heavy clouds, but before long the clouds had burned off and it was a glorious, sunny day. The trees and hillsides were covered in frost, reflecting the sun, but the roads were clear. We did have snow on the sides of the road through the Siskiyou Mtn Pass. We also had an encounter with a bird who misjudged the height of the MH and didn't quite complete his fly-by.
Arrived in Redding around 3:30 and with the temperature around 12C it was so nice to not have to put on a jacket. Once we got set up, I went straight to the bed for a lie-down. The cold has taken hold and the swollen glands are making my teeth hurt. Won't be staying up until midnight tonight, that's for sure. We are staying here for two nights, so we can watch the Rose Bowl game tomorrow. The park host says she has purchased some u-cook pizzas and any guests are invited to join them in the common room to watch the game.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone.
Stay tuned, dear readers.
