Feb 19, Sunday. The rain continued, off and on, all day yesterday and through much of today. Now, I don't wish to alarm anyone, but there could be something big coming down the pipes, so hold your loved ones close and tell them how much you care. You see, ROBIN actually suggested we go SHOPPING - anything to get out of the motorhome for a while. Who am I to say no, and risk both his, and my, mental well being. It basically turned into somewhere dry to go and walk for a while. We didn't buy anything. After dinner, 6 couples got together at John & Fran's for a rousing crib tournament. We had a great time first playing swapped pairs (congrats Carol & Jim on your victory) and then women against men (as it should be, the women were victorious). Laughs and good company until 10:30.
Feb 20, Monday was LAUNDRY DAY, WOOHOO!! Robin did a repair on the linoleum (actually re-did the repair he had done a couple of years ago, and it looks better). Sunshine today, which was a nice change. We went out for dinner (with 7 other couples) at the Blue Adobe, serving southwest style Mexican. Some very interesting and excellent dishes. Spent some time visiting over at Stu & Carol's before heading home to watch a very enjoyable movie, The Fundamentals of Caring. Highly recommend.
Feb 21, Tuesday. Lazy, sunny morning, except for Robin, who went for a bike ride. He hasn't been on the bike for a while, so the 16 miles he put in took a bit of a toll on his body. We headed over to Scottsdale around 3 to meet up with my former boss and his wife for dinner. They have a place in Anthem, about an hour north of us. Wanted to get a jump on rush hour, so went early and just hung out until the meet-up time. Had a fabulous meal at North Italia and a great visit. We were both tired when we got home, and it was an exceptionally early bedtime, compared to what we've gotten used to.
Feb 22, Wednesday. Quiet day for the most part. Happy hour over at Stu & Carols, and then around 6pm, Ken & Faye (from home) called to let us know that they had arrived at their park, a couple of miles down the road from us. They had had a rough day on the road (not to mention several days before this one), so told them to just focus on getting settled in and we'd be over shortly with beer, wine, pizza, apple pie and ice cream. They were very relieved. They are in the same park as Rick & Saima, our friends from Prince George, so once we got there I texted R&S to find out which site they were in, and they decided to walk over and meet Ken & Faye and have a visit with all of us. Made our way home around 9:30.
My middle sister is coming to visit tomorrow, for a week, so this would be a good time to update the blog. It's going to be a busy week ahead. So excited to see her and show her around. She's a bit of a world traveler, so hopefully we won't bore her. JK, Cindy, as I know you just want to relax and soak up the sun.
Until next time, dear readers.
