HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROBIN!!
Skyped with the grandkids and their parents this morning, and talked with #1 son. Once we got mobile, we headed over to the Arizona Market Place - one of the big flea markets in the area. Probably spent about 3 hours there, but towards the end it was starting to feel like deja vu. One of our first stops was at a "variety" booth recommended by one of the folks in this RV park (he happens to work there). The place was full of things we didn't realize we needed, at great prices. So rather than carry a bunch of stuff around, we made a list and stopped in on our way out. We did price compare if we saw something from the list elsewhere, but pretty much everything was cheaper at the first place. Three hours of walking around (at a slow pace) on concrete is hard on the body, so we were glad to get back to the car.
Robin had told me (and other folks) that what he wanted to do for his birthday was go to a pub somewhere (for the ambiance) and watch the Seattle/SanFrancisco playoff game. So I figured that's what we were going to do, but when we left the Market, he said he just wanted to go to Albertson's, pick up some chicken wings and pizza that he had spotted there the other day, and take them back to the motor home and watch the game from the comfort(?) of the couch. Don't know if he was feeling like we'd left too much money at the Market, but if that's what he wanted for his birthday dinner, fine by me.
I hope he liked the birthday present I arranged for him - Seattle is going to the Super Bowl. I asked them not to make it a blow out, but I had hoped they wouldn't make it the nail biter it was. Regardless, the end result is the same.
Nothing else going on today, so until next time dear followers, before you head out in those spiffy new shoes you bought at Walmart (or perhaps you prefer Target), make sure you cut off that plastic strip that joins the shoes together.
