Forgot to mention yesterday that the RV park we are staying at is situated in Brenda, AZ. I don’t think it even rates as a town, but simply consists of the three RV parks, a couple of "cafes" and a country store. It isn’t even recognized on the GPS, which tries to send you to Salome, about 20 miles further east.
Today was a day of hurry up and wait. We decided we would have breakfast out, and tried to head out relatively early to get to the RV show. Our first plan was to stop at Phat Jack’s, about 1/2 mile down the road, but it’s basically a trailer with picnic tables, all of which were full and we couldn’t find a place to park. So we decided to head into Quartzsite and stop at the first place we found. Well, that was Sweet Darlene’s, and it looked promising with lots of cars out front. Well, over an hour later, and two so-so breakfasts, we finally got out of the place. We watched one group get up and leave long before their orders were delivered, and another group was on the way out the door when the server showed up with their food and hollered at them, so they came back. Then it took us about 1/2 hour to go a few short blocks to the show grounds and find a place to park.
The RV show was huge, but we found most of the stuff overpriced. All of the things we had already purchased elsewhere were more expensive, as well as most of the things we had priced out elsewhere. What really caught my attention was the number of dogs people brought on the grounds. First of all, there were many dogs in “pet strollers” (and there were at least 3 booths at the show selling the crazy things). But what concerned me the most were the smaller dogs on leash, trying to make their way through all the humans packed into the place. I wonder how many of those poor little things have been stepped on or tripped over. Many of them looked a bit freaked out, if they weren’t being carried by their owners. So, we’ve done the Quartzsite RV show and won’t bother again. Will stick to Abbotsford or Vancouver. After a very slow stroll through the big tent (due to the volume of people), we wandered over to check out some of the RV’s on site. If we ever win the lottery, we did see a few that would be of interest.
After about three hours, we were done in Quartzsite for the day. so we headed back to the RV park. But we decided to keep on going along highway 60 to see what was further east. Guess what – NOTHING!! There were a couple more RV parks, but for the most part nothing but desert. We went about 10 miles past our site, and then decided to turn around and head back to base.

Sat out reading in the sun until it went down. Worked on the blog while watching TV (internet painfully slow uploading pictures this time of night when everyone in the park is logged on).
Until next time dear followers, a conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good.
