Yesterday (Sunday) was pretty much just a travel and relax day. We are now in Amado, about 30 miles south of Tucson on Hwy 19, which heads to Nogales, Mexico. This is the stretch of highway I mentioned from last year's trip, that is the only highway in the US that has mileage signs in kilometres. It was part of an experiment some 40 years ago, and for some crazy reason they never bothered to change back to imperial. The signs themselves are relatively new, so it's not like they're just waiting to replace them. The speed signs, fortunately, are in miles, so no confusion there.
The RV park is quite nice, and a lucky choice. Our other option was right next door, and it doesn't look too inviting. We just took our chances and drove down, hoping there would be a spot available. The only place we have run into getting a space is Quartzsite (because of the RV show). I don't recall us being turned away anywhere last year.
Today we headed out to check out Madera Canyon, in the Santa Rita mountains. We see this mountain range across the valley from the RV park. Took a little hike while up there, and enjoyed a picnic lunch, before heading back down. It was a great day, as it was sunny but not too hot, and of course, it was a bit cooler up the mountain. Quite a view down into the Santa Cruz Valley, which stretches as far as the eye can see.

Once back at base, it was relaxation time.
Until next time dear followers, be warned - there is always one more imbecile than you counted on.
