Sunday – Mar 9
Stay-home-and-relax-day today. Big day here at Mesa Regal. DONNY OSMOND put on two performances, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. We saw lots of folks making their way in the direction of the hall around 3:45 (for the 4:00 show) and they were all on their way back by 5:15. Not so many folks walking by for the 7:30 show. We did spot Donny walking with some of his “people” after the first show, down the cross road one unit away. When he went back the other way, we wondered if he would accept an invite to join us for happy hour, but decided, since he’s getting up there in age like the rest of us, he probably needed a nap before his next show. We cooked dinner for Jeff & Donna, then sat around the propane campfire and had a visit.

Monday – Mar 10
Decided I wanted to do some real shopping today, so Donna & I took off and had a few hours to ourselves. Some success. The four of us headed over to the pool after we ladies returned, and hung out there until the sun went down. Back to the behemouth for dinner and a quiet evening.
Tuesday – Mar 11
Fun-filled and busy day. Early this morning (ie 9am) we went in search of the Salt River Wild Horses. I had determined, through research, three suggested sites for possible viewing. We missed the first one (no signage), found the second one (Coon Bluff Campground), and then drove past the third one (hidden signage which we spotted on the way back).

Wish I could take credit for these photos, but unfortunately, while we found areas of sand along the river that were well churned up (must have been party central earlier that morning), the only signs of horses were some hoof prints and some horse doody. But what a beautiful and serene area to be wandering through. By the time we realized we had missed the third site, we were close to Saguaro Lake Marina, so decided to stop there and have lunch. After lunch, on an impulse, Jeff decided he wanted to treat us to a boat ride. There is a tourist boat that goes out on the lake for 1.5 hours every 3 hours or so. But instead we ended up renting a pontoon boat for an hour and just made our own way up the lake (although only got about 1/2 way before it was time to turn around and head back). Wonderful afternoon.
Stopped at Camping World on the way back (both rigs needed some supplies, and had a look through a few new units). G&T’s were calling when we got back, so we enjoyed the pool happy hour music from our own spot. Sun was starting to set so decided to combine our suppers. After supper we all headed down to Len & Joy’s (Saskatchewan – he’s 88 and she’s 80; retired cattle farmers) for a couple of rounds of Wizard. Lots of laughs and fun.
Until next time dear followers, life is not about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.
