Just after I posted yesterday's events, the previously brisk and refreshing wind kicked into high gear. I checked the weather app and it showed a wind warning for winds from 20-30mph, gusting to 40+. Well, there was sure a lot of gusting going on. And it continued through the night and well into this afternoon, finally settling down about 8pm (as predicted). It got so bad last night that at 3am, Robin got up and brought in all the slides, as the toppers were flapping and making a heck of a racket. We left the slides in while we were gone today, to reduce the risk of having the toppers torn off.
Lovely day today (other than the wind). Met up with Heather & Rick around noon and toured around more of Havasu City.

Most of the spring breakers seem to have returned home, although there were still a few here and there. Heather says that last week you could hardly move on the walkways along the channel and along the beaches, for all the people. And there was a steady stream of boats moving in and out of the channel and on the lake. Today, there were very few boats out on the lake, due to the high winds.
We headed back to Heather & Rick's condo for happy hour and met some of their neighbours. It was a great day, with great company. So much fun to reconnect with my cousin and her hubby, and hope to see them more often in the future. Not so easy with them in Winnipeg and us on the coast, but we can always meet up in Arizona.
Headed back to our rig around 6 and got things ready for departure in the morning. Robin's been checking the weather forecasts along our various possible routes, and it looks like our best bet will be to stick with the tried and true, and make our way to Bakersfield, then up 99 until it joins 5, and home from there. We may stop along the way to visit towns, or we may just decide to keep on moving. Time (and weather) will tell. But first, we have to try and catch up on the sleep we missed last night.
Until next time, dear readers.
