Had half expected, with all the cars parked near us at the casino, that we would be disturbed frequently throughout the night last night, but it was quiet and uneventful.
Up early and out of the parking lot by 7:30, but after gassing up, grabbing breakfast and shopping at the massive gas station (yes shopping - found some cool gifts for the grandkids), we were on the road by 8. The road ahead looked foggy and socked in, but it very quickly dissipated and was simply high clouds. They did eventually start dropping water on us, but not for long.

We've been seeing lots of calves along the way. Not the kind we've been seeing for the past 5 months hanging out of shorts and capris, but the cute little four-legged ones. Today, we saw lots of lambs.
Encountered our first real traffic jam in the Tacoma area, and then a bit of a bottle neck on the 405 around Seattle, but for the most part pretty smooth sailing. The clouds parted by later in the afternoon, and the sun was shining when we reached Mount Vernon to check in for the night.
We are only a couple of hours from home, but we want to do a Costco run before crossing the border. Also, we find it much better to get home early in the day so we can get the unloading done while we've still got some energy. Had planned to do the Costo run tonight when we got set up, but discovered that the store was closing at 6 (it was 5:45 by the time we got organized), so we'll head out tomorrow morning and hit the one in Bellingham when they open at 10. Not sure if anything will be worth buying, what with the exchange rate, but have Canadian prices to compare to and will see what's up.
Until the final report, dear readers.
