On the road by 8, under sunny skies again. A great, uneventful drive including, shock of shocks, absolutely no congestion anywhere as we drove through Greater Phoenix. Traveled all the way through at normal highway speeds. Actually, the only congestion we had to deal with today was at a gas station in a little place called Chiriaco Summit, about 50 miles east of Desert Hot Springs. What a gong show. Cars zipping in and out everywhere, people making stupid moves; I was afraid we were going to get boxed in at a pump and maybe never get out. A fair bit of waiting to get a turn at a pump, but eventually we were on our way without any property damage or anyone getting hurt.
Arrived at our destination after the office was closed for the day, so just made our way to our site and got parked. Of course, the crew was waiting for us and were all out to help us get the rig in just the right spot. Then it was hugs all around. They were all heading off to Saturday mass, but told us dinner was taken care of and they would be bringing it over when they got back. Awesome. Loving the new site this year - completely concrete on the "living" side of the rig and it makes it seem so much more spacious. It will keep things cleaner inside as well, as we won't be tracking sand and gravel in. Got just about everything set up, and tided up so we could show off the new rig to the old crew and then it was time to dine and catch up with everyone, and share more than a few laughs. Glad to be here, but already missing those who won't be returning this year.

I know I probably shouldn't mention it, but we actually turned on the air conditioner for a while this afternoon. Let the relaxation begin.
But before we get too relaxed, we definitely need to get both the motor home and the car washed. They are filthy. My poor Honda looks like it's been out running around in a mud bog.
Until next time, dear readers.
