Sunday, March 11th, we puttered around with a bit of shopping - Robin to Harbor Freight and me to Joann's (first time this trip, and that's probably a good thing). We had decided to cook up stroganoff again in the pressure cooker, and invited Mike & Lynn to join us for dinner. Lovely evening, sitting out until 9:30. Definitely warming up and holding that warmth further into the evenings.
Monday Robin went for a bike ride in the morning, and then we were out and about running chores. Sunny and hot today. Line dancing class again, and the floor was pretty crowded. Mr. Flailing Arms and Legs was at the far end away from us again (yea). I just couldn't bear to put on the Skecher shoes I normally wear, when it was time to head over, so opted to give it a shot in my flip flops. Not too bad, but about 2/3 of the way through, I decided to take them off and feel the floor beneath my bare feet. It was much better from a stability stand point, but WOW were my feet ever dirty when we got finished. Long foot soak when I got back and then a scrub up in the shower to get the worst off. But I spend most of my time either in sandals or flip flops, or simply barefoot, so I think some of this dark colouring is now permanently embedded.
Tuesday we had high overcast clouds all day - sun shone through a bit, so it wasn't overly bright, but it still got hot. A real lazy day, especially after my workout the night before, and a lousy sleep due to leg pains.
Wednesday, March 14th, there was a wind-up gathering for the 4th St crowd at one of the resident's park model. Lots of yummy appies and some good company and visiting. Lovely, sunny and warm, and an enjoyable evening.
Thursday we headed to Ken & Faye's place for a spaghetti dinner and then we were all off to a spring training baseball game - Seattle Mariners at Oakland Athletics (Mariners won 6-2). One of the rare night games. A great evening, some good ball and wonderful company. Didn't get home until 10:30, so straight to bed.

Friday found Robin off on another early morning hike. I stayed at the RV, as we were expecting a delivery. A thin layer of high cloud helped to keep the temperature down a bit today. Manager's Happy Hour at the patio again today. 25¢ green beer in honour of St. Patrick's day. Robin went over about 4; I went over about 4:30. Sat with Stewart & Jean and Henry & Carol until about 5:30. Henry & Carol left to take in a movie but the rest of us stayed and had taco salads for dinner. Seemed like a better idea than cooking. Quiet evening in.
Saturday morning, March 17th, I took in the annual Artisan Showcase here in the resort, featuring the park's residents. Paintings and drawings, jewellery, silversmiths, handmade cards, scrapbooking, woodworking and carving, stained glass, photography, knitting and crocheting, ceramics, zipper art, doll making and quilting. I may have overlooked something, but the work was pretty amazing, and inspiring. In the afternoon, we popped over to Hobby Lobby, for the first time this trip. Can't believe neither one of us had been there yet in almost three months. No, I didn't clean the place out. All I bought was some rivets to fix one of my purses. Robin picked up some carving tools for the walking sticks he has been making.
Sunday was an early birthday party for Mike. One of his daughters, Angela, came to visit and help him celebrate and, as happened last year, she put on a casual dinner for some of his neighbours here in the park. Gifts were presented, but I think Robin's was the favourite, at least presentation wise. Mike & Lynn got a new car last week, a Fiat. Robin got it in his head that it was a French car (don't expect me to know or correct) and so we went on a hunt for a beret. We did find a close facsimile in a thrift store - actually a Roots product from the 2002 Olympics with USA on the band; perfect. So Robin's doing this whole presentation with a questionable French accent, about how if Mike's driving a French car he should have a beret, and someone casually mentions that the car is made in Italy. Once everyone stopped laughing, Mike put it on his head and said he would wear it proudly whenever he drives the car. We won't hold him to that once the temperatures start to climb - it's made of fleece and will no doubt be a bit warm. But he wore it for the better part of the night.
Monday, March 9th. Morning spent doing laundry - oh whoop-dee-doo!! Robin put his back out while coming out from doing some work under the motorhome. Actually, I gather he initially hit his head (which is bad enough), but when he instinctively jerked away, he must have twisted a bit and OUCH!! He managed to get an appointment with a massage therapist for 7:45pm, so I went to line dancing for about 45 minutes, then came back and drove him over for his appointment. When he came out, he was definitely moving much better, but by the time we drove home, after sitting in the car he was not so good. But with some help from the world of pharmaceuticals he managed to get a decent night's sleep. Wish I could say the same for myself. We're trying out a new mattress, and I don't know if my hips are so far gone that nothing will make a difference, or if my body is just readjusting to a firm mattress. Certainly hope it's the latter.
So now we're up to Tuesday, March 20th. How did we get so far into the month, so fast? We only have two weeks left here! This morning, Paula and I decided to walk over to the sister resort next door for more line dancing with the same folks that do the classes here. No flailing arms and legs that I noticed with this group. Of course, the fact that the classes in our park are always right after the wrap up of Happy Two-or-Three-Hours probably has a bearing on some people's style of dance. Lots of steps registered on my fitbit today. Robin spent the day alternating between the heating pad and ice packs, and does seem to be moving a bit better now. Plus the massage therapy is probably kicking in.
Until next time, dear readers.
